Rain Rain…

It’s been raining here a lot lately and it’s got me in the mood to start some type of new project.  The house looks so bare now that all the Christmas decorations are put up.  Secretly I was kind of ready for them to go since it is a lot of extra stuff everywhere. The kids like it really decorated so I put out as much as I can.  We have a small living room so it can get a little overwhelming after a awhile.  Since I am obsessed with furniture and Chalk Paint I started looking through old pins I have saved on Pinterest and found a pin of this distressed farm furniture from Better Homes and Gardens….right up my alley. I LOVE it.  I can’t pick what I love more, the actual furniture or the beautiful vases.

I love the look of the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint but sometimes it’s a little hard on the wallet.  I tried this homemade chalk paint from the  Classy Clutter blog. I don’t always want to spend the extra cash for the paint when it’s for furniture I may end up replacing when I score the next big find.

Next to chalk paint and distressed furniture I love mercury glass.  I found this recipe for DIY Mercury Glass on the Tidy Mom. I think THIS is what I am going to try this weekend!! If it’s raining where you are, it’s the perfect time to try a DIY.
